ReNOVAte/Plus

 

ReNOVAte/Plus extends the standard ReNOVAte product with high-performance speed enhancements and additional machine emulation technology.  It provides numerous benefits over the standard ReNOVAte product, including:

  • better performance
  • more CPUs supported
  • more peripherals supported
  • single executable emulates multiple CPUs

 

Performance

ReNOVAte/Plus extends the original ReNOVAte technology and optimizes it for the highest performance possible.  It typically executes Nova code 12%-30% faster(!) than the current ReNOVAte product in the same environment.

On a typical laptop computer with a 650 MHz Intel Pentium III processor running Windows 2000, ReNOVAte/Plus runs mapped Nova code at more than 13 MIPS(!), and unmapped Nova code at more than 15 MIPS.  This benchmarks to 2 MIPS or more per 100 MHz of Intel clock cycle rating.

And new benchmarks on an 1.1GHz AMD Athlon shows more than 22+ MHz Nova instruction execution rate... yes a 22 MegaHertz Nova running on a PC under MS Windows!

 

Target CPUs

Additional CPUs are supported in this product in a single executable.  No longer are separate product versions required for each target CPU to be emulated.  This simplifies application testing and deployment.

 

Peripherals

New peripheral support is included in this product.  Enhanced PIT , USAM multiplexer, DZP  disk drive and other peripherals are provided as part of the standard ReNOVAte/Plus release.
